Call for applications is closed.

This form is for the bi-annual Finnish Seismic Instrument Pool (FINNSIP) Call for Applications. The last deadline was Monday 19 January at 18:00 EET, for Winter 2025-2026 call. Next call tentatively in August 2026.

Please familiarize yourselves with the FINNSIP general information on the instrument pool operations, including the list of available instruments, the reservation calendar, and the FINNSIP principles of operation before applying!

The project decisions will be communicated  one week after the FINNSIP Steering Group meeting taking place in January 2026.

This form will take you 10-15 minutes to complete.
Before starting, prepare a 2-page document, including e.g. deployment plan (details that explain the period of the reservation) and possible preparatory work (reconnaissance work) (max 10Mo).

Applications with industry involvement and commercial usage, i.e., economic projects, are possible. However, the economic usage of the instruments cannot exceed annually 20% – the limit is set by the Academy of Finland. Applications for economic projects are set at lower priority. Please specify below whether the project is non-economic or economic.

Project dates

The pick-up date is the date when the instruments are expected to leave the storage facilities at the Univ. Helsinki (Kumpula campus).
The return date is the date the instruments are expected to be back the storage facilities.

If the exact dates for the project are not known, please give further details below in “Additional notes” and list your best estimate of the project dates.

Transportation
